Kawal Kahlon (she/her), M.A. (Eng.), C. Tran., C. Crt. Int., C. Comm. Int. President, Association of Translators & Interpreters of Saskatchewan Board Member, Canadian Translators, Terminologists & Interpreters Council

Kawal Kahlon is nationally recognized translator and interpreter certified in Punjabi, Hindi, and English. With over 30 years of cross-cultural communication experience, she was Canada’s first certified Punjabi Court and Community Interpreter. She holds advanced degrees in English from Guru Nanak Dev University and Punjab University and has led Canadian–Indian academic collaborations, including establishing the Royal Institute of Nursing in Punjab. She now teaches and consults internationally on interpreter training. Kawal has served on the ATIO and STIBC boards.

Segun Afolabi is a holder of PhD in Translation from Université Laval, Québec, Canada, MA in Translation from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and BA in French from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is an Assistant Professor of Translation at La Cité universitaire francophone of the University of Regina, Canada. His teaching and research interests cut across training of professional translators and interpreters, theory and history of translation, sociology of translation, translation policy and political translation, CAT tools and machine translation. Actively engaged in professional translation/interpreting practice, he is a certified translator and member of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ) as well as the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan (ATIS).

Ernest Edoh is the Public Relations Officer of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Saskatchewan (ATIS). A Ghanaian‑Canadian scholar and professional French–English translator and interpreter, he brings more than a decade of experience working across educational, legal, and community settings. Ernest has served as a translator and interpreter in schools, provincial courts, and traffic courts, contributing to ATIS’s commitment to high standards of linguistic service, community engagement, and public communication.
